Coach, Pitso Mosimane has reported that, Anthony Laffor, the 34-year-old Liberian winger who is said to be Mamelodi Sundowns’ key attacker, has suffered a severe knee injury. Coach Mosimane laments,
“We have a lot of injuries, but Laffor is going for surgery. It’s unbelievable. I don’t know, but he will probably miss the rest of the season.”
According to goal.com, Laffor has contributed four goals and one assist out of 17 games in all competitions for the reigning Premier Soccer League (PSL) champions this season.
The coach emphasized that they will miss him because he plays a key role on the team, and that he will always be remembered by the club for scoring a vital goal against Al Ahly’s Egytian rivals Zamalek in the African Champions League Final at Lucas Moripe Stadium three years ago.
The good news is that Laffor has undergone the surgery and it was successful!!
