Liberia beats Guinea Bissau 4-0 in Wafu opener

Liberia dragged Guinea Bissau 4-0 at the ongoing West African Football Union (Wafu Zone A) Nations Cup finals at the Wusum Field in Makeni, Sierra Leone on Wednesday.

The female Lone Star took a 3-0 lead going into the break thru Blanco FC defender Lucy Massaquoi, Senior Professional striker Bernice Willie and Earth Angels striker Angeline Kieh, who converted a penalty.

Kieh is continuing with her fine form, having scored a whooping 42 goals last season to become the most valuable player and highest goalscorer.

And Lucy Kikeh converted another set piece back from the break to make it 4-0 as Liberia scrolled to a comfortable win.

Determine Girls striker Pauline Agbotsu was named the player of the match.

Liberia will take on Mali, who lead Group B following a 6-0 win over Gambia in the early kick-off, on 28 February at 2:00PM and Gambia on 2 March at 4:00PM.

Coach Robert Lartey and his team have put the first US$5,000 in their shopping basket as was promised by First Lady Clar Marie Weah after a practice match with President George Weah All Stars (WAS) at the ABC compound on 22 February.
