Liberia | New Transportation Fares will be ‘pro poor centered’ ~ Ministry of Transportation

This is to inform the general public that the Ministry of Transport held a Stakeholder’s meeting with various Transport Unions of Liberia on Thursday, January 2, 2019 at 11:am in the conference room of the Ministry aimed at making adjustments in The USA and Fares consistent with the reduction in the price of Gasoline from LRD$580 to LRD$525, While the price of Fuel is being reduced from LRD$615 to LRD$585 respectively.

This Ministry is also please to inform the public that the New Transportation Fares will be pro poor centered’ to help ease the movement of commuters as well as the Transportation of goods and services. The Ministry is exerting all efforts to ensure that the New Transportation Fares Structure is released shortly to the public.

Therefore, upon the release of the New Transportation Fares, the driving public is advised to comply in order to avoid any embarrassments.

Penalty for violators include, First Offense, US$100 for Texi and US$200 for Bus, Second Offense, US$200 for Texi and US$400 for Bus, to be paid within 24- hours of the violation, while Third Offense is 2-years suspension of operator’s license.
