In an effort to defend freedom of artistic expression, to create awareness on music censorship and the business side of music in the Liberian music industry, Liberia is to join the world to celebrate MUSIC FREEDOM DAY.
Music Freedom Day, held annually on 3 March since 2007, is a global celebration of the human right to musical expression, with artists and organizations uniting to support musicians who simply insist on their right to express themselves.
Artists and organizations worldwide come together to host their own events in their own communities each year on 3 March.
This year’s celebration is being organized by SHIZO Entertainment Company in collaboration with the Liberian Music Union and the Liberia Intellectual Property Office under the global theme “ARTS ACROSS BRODERS”.
The occasion is to be held at ICAMPUS, Accountability Lab Liberia on Carey Street, from 2:00PM to 4:00PM on March 3, 2020 to speak against censorship and repression. Moreover, it is also an event to create awareness on the business side of music.
At this year’s celebration of MUSIC FREEDOM DAY celebration in Liberia, participants and artists are expected to gain an exceptional knowledge on Branding, censorship and collective management society among others.
