Liberia’s Sam Johnson bags Real Salt Lake Fan’s Player of the Season Award

Liberia’s Skipper, Sam Johnson, walks away with Real Salt Lake Fan’s Player of the Season Award.

Sam who was the biggest winter transfer for SALT Lake, played 1310 mins, scoring 10 goals from 25 matches. He started 16 out of the 25 matches he played last season. Sam won the award with the total votes [rating] of 6.6 while Albert Rusnak got 6.5 and Sebastian Susaedo came through with 6.4.

“I didn’t go through the pre-season due to my injury issue and it took me 6 matches before netting my first goal of the campaign. I will never forget that match. I dropped twice and again got back on my feet to get the first league goal.” – Striker Sam Johnson

Speaking to Day Na Break, Sam thanked the fans and his team mates for the love shown during the season and promised to do more in the upcoming season. “I didn’t go through the pre-season due to my injury issue and it took me 6 matches before netting my first goal of the campaign. Sam is currently on vacation in Liberia and will visit LOFA County to watch his county of birth Nimba play against Lofa this weekend in the National County Sports meet, he informed this blog.
