An Ethiopian airliner, Boeing 737, flight ET302, crashed just 6 minutes after take-off. It has been reported by the BBC that all 149 passengers and 8 crew members aboard the Boeing 737, comprising of 33 different nationalities, are dead!!! The flight was headed to Nairobi, Kenya, from Addis Ababa. The crashed occurred around the town of Bishoftu, which is 60 km or 37 miles southeast of the capital.
The months old Boeing 737 Max-8 is a fairly new one. It was launched in 2016, but was added to the fleet in July of 2018. The cause of the crash is not yet known. However, the company that built the plane, Boeing, tweeted that it was closely monitoring the situation.
The news of the crash was first known when Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed tweeted, sending out his deepest condolences to bereaved families.
