According to the Ministry of Information,Cultural Affairs and Tourism, the Liberian Movie Union and MICAT – in collaboration with the Liberia Intellectual Property Office – have agreed to work together in curtailing piracy of movies on the Liberian market. At the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on Friday, June 14, 2019, the parties agreed to work through a taskforce that will be shortly established in order to enhance the efficiency of their operations. They will jointly ensure compliance by monitoring new entrants ( movie producers), duplication of films and empowerment of Liberian actors. Minister Eugene Lenn Nagbe signed on behalf of MICAT, while LIMU’s President, Artus Frank, signed for his union.
